Dr. HE received B.S. from College of Forest, Shenyang Agricultural University in 1984, and Ph.D. from Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997, and further studied at University of Alberta in Canada in 1995. Invited to visit the USA, Canada, Russia, Germany, New Zealand, Mongolia, Korea and other countries and participate in many international conferences.

  • Dr. HE mainly engaged in urban forest ecology and plant-microbe symbiotic ecology, and presided more than twenty research projects including National “973” program, National Key technologies R&D Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Major Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. And got high attainments in some research areas such as structure and function of urban forest, optimization of agro-forestry landscape, tree mycorrhiza, nitrogen metabolism of nitrogen-fixing trees and its mechanism in mixed forest, and plant-microbe symbiotic ecology and its application technology.

  • Dr. HE published over 100 papers and three books such as Applied Ecology (in Chinese).

  • Got six Science & Technology Progress Awards, and 1st Liaoning Excellent Youth Scientist Award, and has enjoyed a special subsidy from the China State Council.

    Dr. HE is the executive editor-in-chief of Journal of Applied Ecology, and constant director of Forest Society of China and Ecological Society of China, director of Botanical Society of China, and president of Ecological Society of Liaoning Province and Botanical Society of Shenyang, vice president of Liaoning Forest Society and Liaoning Botanical Society. He is also science & technology expert of Shenyang government, and member of standing committee of Shenyang Association for Science & Technology.
